Today let’s make – 2 ingredient air fryer bagels

This recipe is so easy to make, it only has 2 ingredients and then all you have to do is bake them in the air fryer for about 10-15 minutes. It will yield 4 bagels total and you can top them with any seasoning you like, I personally chose sesame seeds but would also really enjoy everything bagel seasoning as well. Keep in mind that every air fryer cooks differently and you may need to cook for longer or even flip the bagels halfway through.

Feedback

This was my first “viral” recipe video on TikTok and I have had plenty of feedback. Someone told me that they tried boiling the bagels for a few minutes first. Another viewer told me that they used vanilla greek yogurt instead for cinnamon sugar bagels and one other lady said that she added a pinch of sweetener to the dough. All of that being said, there are soooo many different things that you can make with this simple dough recipe including donuts and even pizza dough.

Get creative and let me know if you try these in the comments below.

History of Bagels –

Where was the world’s first bagel born? There is a popular legend stating that it was invented in 1683 as a stirrup-shaped tribute to the Polish king Jan Sobieski, who saved the city of Vienna from Turkish conquest. Cute story, but bagels are mentioned in written records from Krakow as early as 1610, and a similar-looking Polish bread called obwarzanek dates back to 1394. Ring-shaped breads have a long history in other countries. Italy has taralli and ciambelle, and China has girde.

In the United States, bagels arrived with the Eastern European immigrants of the late 19th-century but didn’t emerge from their mostly Jewish markets into the mainstream until the 1970s. That was the era when “ethnic food” became trendy.

In 1984, Lender’s Bagels were selling so well that Kraft Foods bought the company, which was a delicious marketing opportunity because Kraft makes Philadelphia cream cheese, so the merger “was billed as ‘the wedding of the century,'”. By the mid-’90s, bagels were a multibillion-dollar industry in America.
