This curry salmon salad lettuce wraps recipe is healthy and easy to make. I personally think that salmon is a fantastic option with lots of nutrients and few additives. It can be hard to eat healthy all the time but I find that I can trick myself when eating lettuce wraps because they’re delicious and nutritious without being “just another boring salad”.
If you’re not a fan of salmon you can always substitute for canned tuna, shredded chicken, or turkey breast and even crumbled tofu for a vegetarian/vegan option.

History of Lettuce Wraps
The origins of lettuce wraps are from most likely from China and have since migrated throughout Southeast Asia where they’re especially popular in Laos and Thailand. Lettuce Wraps have been around for thousands of years, and have most recently become popular in many restaurants, across the U.S, and around the world.
Typical Thai ingredients are ground pork, shredded carrot, tamarind paste, and fish sauce.
Bossam is a classic dish in Korean culture where braised pork belly is wrapped in leafy greens and topped with ssamjang.
Sang Choy Bao, traditional Chinese lettuce wraps, was a typical Chinese New Year celebration dish. Made with ground pork, ginger, water chestnuts, spring onions, garlic, and marinated in a brown sauce typically made with soy sauce, sesame oil, and oyster sauce or hoisin.

My Favorite Condiments
- Earth Island Vegenaise – egg-free, soy-free, and in my opinion tastes BETTER than regular mayonnaise.
- Spike – A gourmet Italian all-purpose seasoning that is great when you’re cooking in a hurry, it’s a blend of sea & earth salt, nutritional yeast, onion powder, celery powder, orange powder, celery root, garlic powder, dill, kelp, Indian curry, horseradish, white pepper, lemon peel, summer savory, mustard powder, bell pepper, parsley, tarragon, rosehips, safflower, mushroom powder, spinach powder, paprika, tomato powder, oregano, basil, marjoram, rosemary, and thyme. A little bit of everything you want and need for a rich flavor profile.
- Kühne Prepared Mustard (Extra Hot) – A delicious, salty, spicy, dijon-like mustard. Just a little extra flavor than plain yellow mustard. You can also use grainy dijon mustard.
