I LOVE this cheddar biscuit recipe so much because it’s extremely easy to whip up for any occasion. There are also so many ways that you can modify these biscuits by adding garlic, chives, and dill for a deeper flavor profile. My absolute favorite add-on ingredient is dijon mustard because it adds a real zing and moistness to these already delicious biscuits. After you make this recipe once and share these with friends and family they will be asking you to bring them to every family gathering until the end of time!!
Directions
Another positive attribute of this recipe is its simplicity. No sifting, no dry and wet ingredients in separate bowls. Simply dump everything in one big bowl and mix. You don’t need a whisk or use a hand mixer, just an old fashioned wooden spoon. I think the hardest part is shredding the cheese…if you didn’t buy pre-shredded.

This recipe can be quite versatile and made for other dishes such as pot pie. Just make a pot pie filling stovetop, add it to a casserole dish and then plop the biscuit dough on top for the final 25 mins of cooking. Stay tuned for this recipe coming soon.

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup butter, or vegan butter
- 1 cup milk, or unsweetened almond milk oat milk works great as well
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, or vegan cheese shreds go ahead and experiment with your favorite type of cheese!
Optional Ingredients
- 1 tbsp fresh baby dill
- 2 cloves fresh minced garlic
- 1 tbsp dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp chives

- Preheat oven to 400° F
- Add all dry & wet ingredients to bowl and mix thoroughly with a wooden spoon until dough forms
- Place ¼ cup portions onto a greased baking sheet (this should make 12 biscuits but make them as big as you like)
- Bake for 25 minutes
- Cool before serving.
