Made In cookware review – Is it worth the price?

Ok, full disclosure. I was gifted the two pieces of Made In cookware that I’m going to be reviewing in this post. And yes, the links in this post are affiliate links that I will make a commission from if you choose to make a purchase. However, let me also say, that I would NEVER recommend a brand or a product that I didn’t wholeheartedly believe in and absolutely LOVE.

AND right now Made In is having an amazing BLACK FRIDAY SALE! Their prices are never really discounted, so this is a huge deal! Up to 25% off sitewide.

Packaging

First things first, both of the items that I received were packaged beautifully AND with minimal waste. This is always a plus, and definitely something that I look for in any company. These two items were packaged in simple cardboard boxes with their logo and no plastic packaging on the knife at all! The saute pan had a small plastic bag over the lid and pan so that it didn’t get scratched, not bad!

The 3.5 QT non-stick saute pan

This saute pan is an absolute dream. You can honestly just feel the quality and craftsmanship and I know that this is a piece that I can count on in my kitchen for years to come. The non-stick surface technology in their pans is supposed to last 10 times longer than other popular brands. Pretty impressive if you ask me and it did not disappoint! Eggs no problem, no oil needed! Fettuccine alfredo…perfection! There really isn’t anything this pan can’t handle.

I am totally obsessed and can’t say enough good things about this pan, the brand itself, and the traditional craftsmanship that goes into every single piece that they sell. I mean even professional chefs use this brand as their go-to for many kitchenware items, that speaks for itself, in my humble opinion.

The Details

The classic 3.5 Quart Saute Pan, in non-stick. Featuring a double application of a non-stick coating that is toxin-free, PFOA-free, and silicon-free. This premium, stainless steel, 5-ply construction saucepan is perfect for caramel, risotto, sauces, and for a quick and easy clean-up.

The Made Slick™ non-stick surface is triple cured, made without PFOA, and by far the best non-stick surface you’ll ever cook on, seriously. It lasts 10x longer than our competitors’ non-stick surfaces and 30x longer than ceramic non-stick surfaces.

The 8-inch Chef’s Knife

This knife is “chef’s kiss” a work of art. Seriously! You know you are getting something special and extremely capable when you purchase a Made In knife. The olive wood handle is absolutely gorgeous and the knife blade itself is crafted to last and to stay sharp for a very long time. Honestly, anything crafted in France by a 5th generation expert is just an inspiration to cook in itself, what more could you ask for?!

I had some family over for dinner this weekend and they all fell in LOVE with this knife as well. It’s perfect for meal prep, chopping herbs, or even cutting open a spaghetti squash, no task is out of the question. AND now I know what I’m getting everyone this Christmas!

The Details

Inspired by tradition and innovation, Made In partnered with a family-owned, 5th generation knife maker from the knife capital of the world to create a fully-forged, nitrogen-treated chef knife. Hammered from one single rod of nitrogen-treated, premium X50CrMoV15 metal, this chef knife achieves a Rockwell score of 58-60 and will become the star in your knife block.

Features:

  • Made in France
  • 8.5″ blade length
  • 13″ total length
  • Weight: 8 ounces
  • X50CrMoV15 stainless steel (58+ HRC)

When they say their knives are full tang and fully forged, they mean business. This means all Made In knives are made from one solid piece of stainless steel and cut through anything. All that the competitors’ knives weld together two pieces of metal rather than using one intact piece, this allows them to cheaply produce a knife that looks full tang and fully forged but doesn’t act or age like it.

Conclusion

1000% worth the price, Made In is not as expensive as you might think after reading all of the details given in this post. I highly recommend checking out their website right now (click here) When you take into account the care and precision that each item is created with, it’s even more of a reason to upgrade your kitchen this season. I think that in general, most of us are trending towards quality items that don’t need to be replaced every year or two. So with Made In you are definitely getting something that will last. I know that I’m trying to live a more sustainable lifestyle, which for me, is deciding to spend the money upfront for quality items that will inevitably only help me save money in the future while reducing waste.

Is there a downside? I’m not sure yet…if I find any after using these pieces a few more times, I will definitely come back and update this post but for now…Don’t miss out on Made In’s amazing BLACK FRIDAY SALE! Up to 25% off sitewide!

Stay up to date with all of my recipes and recommendations!
